JD started working as a Financial Professional with Principal Financial Group in 2018. He began his career in the Financial Services industry while in college in 2016 at Cambridge Investment Research, Edward Jones, and then Community 1st Credit Union. Having 4 years of experience prior to graduating with a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Iowa, Tippie College of Business.

Originally from Mount Pleasant Iowa, JD grew up in a tight-knit community in Southeast Iowa. He started working on his grandmother's farm at the Age of 12 while volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and Midwest Old Threshers. He worked for HyVee as the Assistant Manager of Store Operations while attending school.

JD's early experiences have assisted him with developing the skills necessary to perform comprehensive financial planning for his clients. He strives to provide confidence and comfortability for each and every individual, family, and business he meets with. He coaches each client along the way working hand in hand with their specific financial needs.

Community Involvement

JD lives in Iowa City and is actively involved in the Corridor community along with his hometown of Mount Pleasant. He currently serves as a Student Mentor for the University of Iowa, is a finance committee member for the Hawkeye Area Boy Scout Council, a member of the Associates Board for Tanager Place, and serves on the Young Alumni Board for the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. He is also a member of NAIFA – Cedar Rapids (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), Financial Management Association, and The Society of Financial Service Professionals.
